(Lunch will be served)
“Biometric Borders” is a 3-hour workshop providing a significant insight into the current state-of-the-art applications of biometrics to secure national borders. The workshop comprises an overview of recent large-scale deployments of biometric systems for border security and a discussion of issues complicating the deployment of other systems. Invited speakers during this interactive workshop will include representatives from industry, government, and the traveling public. The workshop concludes with a discussion of near-term future plans and programs with active audience participation.
Highlights will include:
- Current Applications of Biometrics in Border Control
- Passport readers and passport control
- Case historiesof recent large scale border control deployments using biometrics
The workshop has been organized by the principals of the National Biometric Security Project, a Congressionally-funded non-profit established to objective assessments of biometric technology and advice on appropriate application of current and emerging technologies in the light of the events of 9/11/01.
